Needlework in S.A.
Mood:  mischievious
Topic: Needlework

I have been doing cross stitch and tappestry work for about 4 years and I don't know about anybody else but if you live in South Africa you can just as well be trying to dig up fossils.

So why would I be saying that?  It is just that it seem that there is just no interest in that art.  It is a dead art and yet it is such and interesting art.  I always describe it as painting with thread and needle, since that is what we do.  But you battle to  find anything that has to do with cross stitch in South Africa.

Non of the book are frm South Africa, they all get imported and in the last few months less and less books are imported.  Then of course there is the materials, floss and patterns which is very hard to find, if I think how readelly it is available in America and Brittain. They even have clubs and stuff there.

Can I just ask: Are there any South Africans out there doing cross stitch?  Please contact me and let me know that you exist, I feel like a dino, totally extinct.
